Academy Board Members attended several Active Minds programs.
Here is what they said:
I was blown away by the quality of the presentation on Al Qaeda, which turned the clock back to the 1882 British colonization of Egypt and the Suez Canal. The instructor was riveting during his lecture and gracious during the question period. He managed to talk about a highly political topic by historicizing instead of politicizing it.
I have attended several lecture series this year, some provided by area professors, and many costing significantly more than what Active Minds charges. You could say I’m a learning junkie. The quality of the Active Minds session I attended was top notch!
Even though I don’t really like history, the presentation was so interesting that I paid attention to every word. I appreciated the historical review followed by an intelligent tie-in to what is happening today plus the opportunity for questions and comments.
